There are numerous casinos located in the state, the majority on moored scows. The grandest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Amerindian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming room, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, such as 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many styles of poker; as well as three dining rooms, daily entertainment, and gaming lessons. An additional large Indian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 eatery’s. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river based casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa paddle wheel boat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all day and night, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. paddle wheel boat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack events.

Iowa casinos provide an awesome amount of tax revenue to the government of Iowa, which has permitted the budgeting of a good many state wide projects. Tourism has grown at an accelerated percentage along with the demand for companies and a growth in working people. Iowa casinos have been instrumental to the growth of the market, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
