The conclusive number of Kyrgyzstan gambling dens is something in question. As data from this state, out in the very remote central area of Central Asia, often is arduous to get, this might not be all that surprising. Whether there are two or three accredited casinos is the thing at issue, maybe not quite the most all-important slice of info that we don’t have.
What will be correct, as it is of many of the ex-Russian nations, and certainly correct of those in Asia, is that there no doubt will be many more not allowed and alternative gambling dens. The adjustment to acceptable wagering didn’t energize all the former gambling halls to come from the illegal into the legal. So, the clash over the total amount of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos is a small one at best: how many approved casinos is the element we are trying to answer here.
We understand that in Bishkek, the capital metropolis, there is the Casino Las Vegas (an amazingly unique name, don’t you think?), which has both table games and video slots. We can also find both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. Each of these have 26 slots and 11 gaming tables, split amongst roulette, vingt-et-un, and poker. Given the remarkable similarity in the size and floor plan of these 2 Kyrgyzstan gambling dens, it may be even more surprising to see that the casinos share an location. This appears most unlikely, so we can likely determine that the number of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the authorized ones, stops at two casinos, one of them having adjusted their name just a while ago.
The nation, in common with many of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a fast conversion to free-enterprise economy. The Wild East, you might say, to refer to the lawless ways of the Wild West a century and a half back.
Kyrgyzstan’s gambling halls are certainly worth checking out, therefore, as a bit of anthropological research, to see cash being gambled as a form of social one-upmanship, the apparent consumption that Thorstein Veblen wrote about in nineteeth century America.
